TAB Blog: 20/20 Vision

By January 5, 2020Uncategorized

Dear Tabernacle Family,

Welcome to 2020! The new decade. The year of the Olympics. The year the Bills go to the playoffs again. The decade for many more firsts as we advance in science and technology and push further and harder to achieve places man has never gone. “To infinity and beyond!”

Many have dubbed this year 20/20 vision. Perfect vision. I would like to challenge us to “clearly see what can be.” The possibilities. The second challenge is to “clearly see what can’t be.” The discipline of sorting out the impossible, impractical and refinement of reality. And then, “clearly see what IS.” The faith factor of what God has in store for those who put their trust in Him. Sort of 20/20 in overdrive.

Let’s sit in the vision chair for a moment. Elisha, God’s servant, prayed in 2 Kings 6:17 for the eyes to be opened. verse 17 – And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.”

Here is my prayer for all of us:
1. Open our eyes to SEE WHAT CAN BE. Open our eyes to the possibilities of the Kingdom as we put our trust in You, Lord. Open our eyes to see Your provision, Your path, Your dream over our lives. Open our eyes to see what Your hand has done in our lives and what can be for our next steps.

2. Open our eyes to SEE WHAT CAN’T BE. Help us, Lord, to put away the items from our lives where You have clearly shut the door. Help us to refine our path and not cling to areas that You have not directed us. Give us wisdom. To obey. To step into Your will and to dream ahead rather than pine for the trail behind.

3. Open our eyes to SEE WHAT IS. Bishop Stearns preached prophetically, “Just say the Word.” Lord, we put our trust in You for this decade of Vision. Stretch us further and OPEN OUR EYES TO SEE WHAT IS. To see the reality of WHAT YOU SEE. To speak the Word. To step out in Vision. To proclaim the Lord’s Word over our lives, our families, our businesses, our work places, our relationships and to see the Word of the Lord fulfilled in a greater sense than ever before.

“LORD, open our eyes to see Your hand at work and to believe for the heart of the Father to be revealed in our lives.”

“To infinity and beyond” in 2020!
