In Matthew 25 Jesus relates a parable saying, "...I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in
prison and you came to me..." The they asked, "When did we visit you?" His answer, "Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to
me.” (verses 34-36 from the Message translation).
Matthew 25 is a powerful mandate to the church that we visit the sick, afflicted, imprisoned, and immobile. At The Tabernacle we consider hospital, home, and shut-in visitation a
critical part of our ministry to those whom God has called to our specific family.
James 5:14 says "If you are sick call for the elders of the church, so that they can anoint you with oil, lay hands on you, and pray the prayer of faith for you."
When you or a loved one are in need of a visit, are facing surgery, or other serious health issues,
in the Pastoral Care Department. We may not be able to physically make it - however we always make these issues a matter of prayer.
