TAB Blog: Be Who God Created You to Be

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Dear Tabernacle Family,

Hello and Good Morning,

There has been such a stirring taking place in my heart. A wrestling, a contention for our identity in Christ. For who God created you to be! I encourage you to stop wrestling and start decreeing who you are. Embrace the bold, quirky, bright, and fragile parts of who you are. The wrestling you have been going through might be God telling you to stop wasting your potential and become who you’re supposed to be. You have a God-planned future filled with great hope before you.

This wrestling for identity is very personal to me, as I have contended, cried, laughed, gave up, started back up again, and gone full circle having allowed myself to be controlled by fear. Most of the time, unknowingly, not realizing that everything I was trying to do was in my own strength. Not God’s.

Take a step back from all the chaos that tries to engulf you. Exhale and breathe again. Quiet yourself. Your heart. Your mind. Your emotions. Be still. Allow the presence of the Lord to come in and rest with you. Acknowledge and release to God your hurts, your heartache. Praise Him for ALL that He has done. Give Him glory. Especially when you don’t feel like it.

Circumstances only have the power to consume you if you allow them to. YOU are powerful in your choices. In your thinking. Don’t conform to what fear is telling you. Most of us feel fear and react to it. We stop doing what is making us afraid and the fear goes away but our world gets smaller. In these moments, we have power over fear in our response and in our thinking. Choose to acknowledge the fear, then proceed into your God-given destiny.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed (Psalm 139:13-16).

With Love,

TAB Blog: Lather, Rinse, Repeat

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Dear Tabernacle Family,

“Lather, Rinse, Repeat.” We have all heard this phrase before. I’m sure you have heard these 3 words before from your mother, hairdresser or just read it on the back of the shampoo bottle. These words remind me of the routineness of life. We go through seemingly insignificant days with our schedules and routines. Punching the time clock, laundry, dishes, school work, paying
bills, watching Netflix, eating dinner, running the kids everywhere. “Lather.” After all the busyness, we get our said 6-8 hrs of sleep. “Rinse.” Then we wake up and do it all over again. “Repeat.” The mundane of Lather, Rinse, Repeat can become commonplace and often we feel like we are trapped in a never-ending cycle of same old, same old.

Yet there is beauty in our everyday lives, more then what we have stopped to think about. On any given day that you are lathering, rinsing, and repeating, just being on this planet you are rotating on its axis at 1,000mph! If that’s not amazing enough, Earth is moving around the sun at speeds of 67,000mph. That means on your average day you have traveled more them 1.5 million miles in time and space. If God can do the big things like keeping the planets in orbit, He can surely master the small things, those little amazing details of our lives.

What I am suggesting is that we look beyond the lather, rinse, repeat in our lives to see God in the big things and the little things. There is age-old saying: “beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” but I think everything is in the eye of our Beholder. Let’s desire to see God beyond our tasks and schedules and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Him in all things. Prayer is what activates this movement in our lives. So today, invite the Holy Spirit to see God in the “lather,
rinse, repeat” of life. It will restore joy, create hope, and we begin to see God in a greater dimension. He is Omnipresent but wants you to invite Him into everything. So, invite his presence with you while you do the laundry, while we are working, running errands, find him, and seek him out in all things. Stop seeing the world just as we are and see the world as He is, in all it’s splendor!!

My prayer for us: God, We invite the Holy Spirit to see you in every detail in our lives. Give us wisdom and revelation in the little things and the big things. Let us see You like never before.

And tomorrow while you are actually lathering, rinsing and repeating with your shampoo think about the fact that every hair on your head is numbered.

In His Name,

TAB Blog: What is Your Story?

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Dear Tabernacle Family,

What is your story?

A Presbyterian pastor from Chattanooga TN, a former newsman, aired a weekly broadcast entitled “Changed Lives!” Each broadcast would tell the story about an individual’s life that was changed after their encounter with the living God. The emphasis was not placed upon them being prepared to go to heaven when they passed, but rather on how that encounter changed the individual’s life while on earth. As I recall, the individuals were primarily those we could relate to in our every day journey through life. Individuals that faced the same challenges, tragedies, and fears that we do today.

The essence of the stories was not an emphasis on the severity of their situation, nor how bad someone was before their life was changed, instead it was based on what that person’s life was afterward. The real story is about people meeting God in their life’s journey, and forever being changed.

Scriptures have recorded many instances of what happened to a person after their encounter.
•SAMARITAN WOMAN AT THE WELL – Dysfunctional, disastrous lifestyle, and broken, but changed when she meets Jesus;
•BLIND BARTIMAEUS – When he heard Jesus was near, he cried out and was healed;
•WOMAN WITH AN ISSUE OF BLOOD – After unsuccessfully using her resources to resolve her situation. “If I even touch his garments …”
•SAUL/PAUL – In the process of doing what he thought was his religious duty, he is instantly transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

These are some of the better known individuals, but there are many more whose names may not be known outside a small circle of family or friends. However, their lives and testimonies have made a difference in the others, and eternity.

Have you ever wondered how you will make it through a situation, or whether your life has any significance? When going through those difficulties, or dry places in life, please remember that God has not abandoned you, nor does He consider you as insignificant. This morning, a person with such a testimony, or in need of hearing one to restore hope, may be sitting next to you.

An encounter with Him is not just for our enjoyment and benefit, but to also share the goodness of God with those that we associate with in our daily lives. Our world is anxiously seeking something that will bring sense to senseless situations. This is especially so as the world’s gods crumble before their eyes. Your story glorifying our God is waiting to be shared. It could bring hope to someone who needs it restored in their life. Have you thought about your story?

The Jubilee Ministry Leadership has chosen to highlight personal testimonies as part of the program portion of our Luncheons. We recognized that many in our congregation have a great story to share.

Please consider joining us at the next Jubilee Luncheon to see and hear about Changed Lives!

Blessings,

TAB Blog: The Anointing of God

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Dear Tabernacle Family,
Good Morning

It is an awesome privilege to share with you what we believe God is doing in this season. This is a personal invitation for you to join us every Wednesday Evening at 7:00pm in the World Prayer Center, where we worship the Lord, study the Word, minister healing prayer, and have high expectations that God is doing wondrous things among us! The premise for this “Healing Service” is we believe because the promise of the Holy Spirit is to the “End of the Age” and the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit are still active in the church, that miracles were not only for yesterday, but they are for today and tomorrow should the Lord tarry.

We are studying together that God is a benevolent, kind, caring, compassionate, and generous God who has blessed each of us with gifts and talents. Because He is a “get ‘er done” God, He expects us to use those gifts and talents to advance His Kingdom and see lives changed. Jesus said, “You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit is come upon you and then you shall be my witnesses.” The result of that Scripture was unprecedented revival accompanied by shocking miracles of healing and multitudes being added to the Lord.

Our key Scripture is John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” God wants to do extraordinary things through your life and we believe this can be a time of preparation for you. He will give you the ability, faith and tools needed to accomplish His plans for your life. It’s time to get ready to come face to face with “The Anointing of God” in a way that you have never experienced before because “The Kingdom of God is at hand!” Mark 16:20 and they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.

Blessings,

Pastor Jo Ann Angelo – Teacher
