TAB Blog: Pastoral Care

By January 20, 2019Uncategorized

Hello Tabernacle Family!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to share on the ministry that is so dear to my heart, Pastoral Care! I am honored to be a part of your lives in a very special way. Supporting, caring, and loving people in times of sadness, loss, and fear, as well as in times of happiness, achievement, and success is such a privilege. Being able to share in what God is doing in all seasons, and create a safe, comfortable atmosphere where people can be vulnerable, and allow you to cry with them, laugh with them, and even let you pray with them, is so special.

Jesus said, “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.” John 13:34-35 (AMP).

We have a Pastoral Care Team who go above and beyond to make people feel that they are loved and part of our community. The Pastoral Care Team ministers to our church family in many ways; by making visits in hospitals, nursing and rehab centers, and homes, by sending cards to members who can no longer attend services, and by making calls throughout the week to connect with people. Pastoral Care also attends to the needs of people interested in being water baptized, having their children dedicated, and we are there for them when they walk through a loved one’s funeral, or the excitement of a birth or a wedding. This church could not have the impact that is does without the help of the Pastoral Care Team.

If you have a heart for people and would like to serve them, please call or come by and see me at the Church Office. Let’s love one another together!

Love and Blessings,

Pastor Jamie Procknal
