TAB Blog: Become Like Little Children

By August 5, 2018Uncategorized

Good morning!

I hope everyone has been having an amazing summer. I am excited to share with you for the first time in this way since coming on staff! We are gearing up for All Star Kids Camp starting tomorrow! Please pray that God’s Spirit is very present among the kids and our amazing team! I pray that each child who is with us experiences and gets to know Jesus more and more each day!

In Matthew 18:3 Jesus says “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (NIV) This verse is on my heart during this time. Not only are we to teach children, we are to be like them as well. It has been a huge blessing for me to be a part of the lives of many Tab Kids so far. Furthermore, it is truly amazing to see how they trust God and know God’s Word. When Jesus says for us to “change and become like children,” it strikes me that we all used to be children. He is pointing out that we have already made a “change” and stopped being as children. Children are trusting; they are forgiving; they are eager to learn and explore. They are even, at times, extremely fun to be around! I think Jesus is reminding us to be trusting of Him, to forgive each other and ask for forgiveness, to be eager to learn from God and to remember that God can be fun too!

As a proud father of two boys, I reflect on how they act towards me. Being a parent or grandparent shows a wonderful reflection sometimes of how we need to be towards God. My youngest son often times will come running into the room and jump into my arms; totally trusting I will catch him. He is trusting that he is safe when blindly leaping. He is believing that I will not allow him to fall. While I am a fallen person and sometimes will make mistakes, Jesus will never let us down. If only we can trust Him in that way and know that He will not let us go; we may even find ourselves enjoying those moments when He calls us to jump.

Special thanks for Jen Cupicha and Pastor Aimee as they have been a huge blessing during this time leading up to Kids Camp. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us all!

Blessings,

Pastor Adam
