Grief Share Program at The Tabernacle
Facilitated by Brenda Knight and Ann Crinzi

Jesus said “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.” (Mt. 5.4)

Grieving takes courage. It takes courage to walk in pain and still rely on Jesus. He knows what you are feeling. He is the only one who really knows your heart. Jesus lamented in the garden. Lamenting is an expression of faith. It’s about being honest with God. The word “Grief” means intense sorrow caused by loss of a loved one (especially by death); something that causes great unhappiness. To “share” means to have in common. The Grief Share team is a group of people who love God and realize God’s understanding is without limits. He cares for you, enough to give you His Son. We are here to share the love of God with you, to listen and to pray with you. “Comfort and speak encouraging words to one another” (1Th.5.11).

During a time of loss over my loved one, I said to the Lord, “I am alone.” Jesus answered, “Don’t I take you by the hand?” He said to me, “You use a GPS- can’t I be your guide?” He said to me, “I got you. I will bring the right people your way.” I cried “No one is here to hold me.” Jesus answered “No one can snatch you out of my hands, I am holding you in the palm of my hands.”

We are passionate about Grief Share because it displays God’s Love for you. There are provisions made for you to have a safe place to go with your grieving heart, to share and unburden. The Bible says: “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”(Mt.11:28-30).

At Grief Share meetings we provide a quiet place to share in a small group setting. We meet once a week for 13 weeks. We pray with you, we listen if you care to talk and we watch a Grief Share DVD filled with heart felt interviews of people young and old who share with us their grief and how they learn to move forward with their lives. A workbook is strongly suggested to support you and offer comforting acknowledgement of God’s plan of hope. The 13 week Grief Share program encourages you to take steps to search the deepest depths of your heart, in order to express your thoughts and tell Him what you are going through, only Jesus will truly understand.

If you know someone who is grieving over the loss of their loved one, this program will offer them encouragement, compassion, love and support. Please contact the Main Office of The Tabernacle for

TAB Blog: Preparing the Way

Dear Tabernacle Family,

I have the great honor this week to encourage you to actively participate in our Church-wide book study, Prepare the Way, (or Get out of the Way). We have the unique opportunity and the rare privilege to dive into the deep spiritual reservoir of our very own Bishop Robert Stearns. His book is uniquely prophetic in scope, transcendent in reach, and ripe with the potential to greatly impact our generation. Within the pages of this book is a divinely generated pathway to unity. Our Bishop has discerned practical wisdom from on High, relevant for transforming and shaping the Body of Christ.

This book, written nearly 20 years ago, prophetically reveals 12 apostolic concepts for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry. These acted upon concepts will edify the body and unify us in our faith (Eph. 4:12-13). These are make or break issues that need to be gleaned, imparted, assimilated and implemented within the hearts of individuals for positive change in our Christian culture. Let your heart be stirred as you get a taste of these pivotal chapter titles:

*Passion for Jesus * Ears to Hear * Global Relevance and Release * Living Stones * Creativity Unleashed * One Body, Diverse Members * Spiritual Authority * Citywide Family of God * Abiding in the Secret Place * Heart for the Poor * Restoring the Tabernacle of David * Israel *

You can read and glean from this book on your own and you will be blessed doing so but participating in home groups will energize your faith by building authentic lasting relationships where real life issues can be addressed. We need each other. Genuine relationship with God and His people is the bedrock of Christianity; we are created with a deep longing for relationship. As we begin to walk in unified purpose with a shared perspective we will become the strong, united, overcoming growing force in the earth that the world urgently needs to see manifested in our generation. Please join us in ‘Preparing the Way’ of our soon coming King!

Much Love,

Sherry Jankowski

TAB Blog: “Speak, Lord”

“Speak, LORD, for Your servant hears.” (1 Samuel 3:9b)

In the story in 1 Samuel 3, the little boy Samuel is living in the Temple of God and one night hears what He thinks is a human voice calling his name. At first, he runs to Eli the Chief Priest thinking it must be him, but it is not. This happens again and finally the third time Eli realizes what is going on and encourages Samuel that what he is hearing is God’s voice. Eli’s instructions are simple but profound “Speak Lord, for your servant hears.”

Here at The Tabernacle, we believe that God is still speaking to His people. This congregation has a rich history of being a place where the prophetic (hearing God’s voice) is welcomed, and many words the Lord has spoken to His people have come to pass in amazing ways in this house.

This is why we are excited to see this area of ministry deepened and strengthened through the establishment of the prophetic team.
The prophetic team’s purpose is to help others in the learning how to hear God and activate kingdom culture by:

Cultivating an atmosphere that is conducive to the moving of the Holy Spirit.

Equipping and activating people in the prophetic.

Capturing and preserving the Rhema and Logos Word of God.

You can hear God! Like Samuel, you are in His house and He wants to speak to you and through you! The prophetic is not reserved for some special class of Christians. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27), so if you are His sheep you can hear his voice.

Our desire is to serve God’s purposes in individual lives and the life of The Tabernacle family by establishing a safe and welcoming place for people to grow in their ability to hear God. You may recall last summer there were 12 weeks of classes on the prophetic. We are going to be continuing with those types of training and much more. We also are going to be intentional about capturing in written form the words that God is speaking to the congregation. Scripture makes it clear that both the written (Logos) word of God and the (Rhema) prophetic word of God have a place in helping to give guidance, direction, encouragement, and comfort.

We welcome your prayers and participation as we seek to be obedient and say together “Speak, Lord, for your servant hears.”
