Dear Tabernacle Family,
It is an honor to address you through this week’s Pastor’s Pen. Whether you are a life-long Tab member, or, maybe this is your first time visiting, there is no denying that there is something tangible happening in the worship of this House. Each week, I am blessed to see the congregation engaging in Throne-worship with all of us on the platform. As we focus on the restoration of the House of David – we as the One Call Worship Team work hard to help foster an atmosphere of freedom in worship.
Psalm 22 comes to mind as I write this to you. David was an author who never held back what he was thinking or feeling. Much like him, we come into church with so many things on our minds and hearts; some of which are too hard to even talk about. But David reminds us that the Lord inhabits the praises of His people, and that He does not ignore or belittle our cries. When we reach out to our God in worship, be encouraged that He not only hears our cries, but inhabits them as well. Verse 26 says that “All who seek the Lord will praise Him. Their hearts will be filled with everlasting joy” (NLT).
So, when the worship team takes the platform and begins with a high-energy song of praise, or we are in a moment of intimate worship directed toward the throne of the Almighty, know this: It is not WE the worship team, and YOU the congregation. It is ALL of US together – The Tabernacle, reaching out to God, joining with the great assembly to offer the Almighty our highest praise. Hallelujah!
On that note, we are always looking to expand our team. If you are an experienced musician and/or vocalist, and feel called to a worship ministry, we would love to meet you. Please inquire via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, please save the date for this year’s Christmas musical, “Wrapped in Love,” December 2nd (3:00pm and 7:00pm) and December 3rd (7:00pm). It’s going to be incredible!
In Christ Alone,
Worship Director, One Call Worship
