Dear Tabernacle Family,
It is a privilege for me to be able to greet you on this Labor Day Weekend!
Traditionally, this weekend marks the end of our summer, and students enjoying the last few days of “freedom” before returning to the routine of school and studies. This Sunday also marks the beginning of a new ministry year at The Tabernacle as the various ministries resume a normal activity schedule.
It is also a time when we invite and encourage those connecting with our congregation to consider entering into covenant membership at The Tabernacle. This invitation is extended to you whether you are relatively new to this House or have attended for a longer time but have not considered membership before.
Covenant membership is much more than an organization, such as Rotary, or Lions Club, that you join. It is entering into a relationship with a body of believers called to corporate worship of The Living God; caring for fellow believers, drawing strength from this body of believers in your time of need, and being a representative of the King and His Kingdom to the world.
On September 17th, an 8-week seminar will begin that will prepare you to enter into covenant membership at The Tab. The class is approximately 45 minutes long and meets at 9:00am on Sunday mornings in the Atrium Classroom (Matthew Room). Greg Collins and I will present a Biblical understand of the Church, along with pertinent information about The Tabernacle and its history, mission and calling. The classes will provide an opportunity for you to further investigate and consider covenant membership at the Tabernacle.
If you are interested, we have a packet of information we would like to give you in advance. There is a portion of the packet that asks you for information so we can prepare for your attendance in the class. You may obtain a packet at the Welcome/Information Center in The Atrium or by calling our office (675-2888) and ask our receptionist. Today, I will be at the Membership Table during the Ministry Fair to meet you and answer your questions.
